Conservation is a registered conservation charity, working to
protect butterflies, moths and their habitats in the UK. Britain
has 55 resident butterfly species with several more that visit
us regularly from abroad to breed.
Five butterflies have become extinct in Britain in the last 100 years and several more species will follow unless urgent action is taken. Even our common butterflies have become severely reduced in number, and, for many people, butterflies are no longer an intrinsic part of summer days in the garden and the countryside. By joining Butterfly Conservation, you can support us and take part in our work to save UK butterflies and moths from extinction. Members receive our award winning magazine three times a year and membership of their local branch. |
