An international nonprofit organization focused on public
education about invertebrates and conservation projects that
demonstrate their critical roles in endangered ecosystems around
the globe. Named for the Xerces Blue Butterfly (Glaucopsyche
xerces), the first butterfly in North America known to become
extinct as a result of human interference.
