GEOLOGICAL CURATORS GROUP

 

Affiliated to the Geological Society of London, The GCG was founded in 1974 and has been an active group in the UK since then and are keen to embrace members from all over the world. The Group holds meetings to promote the exchange of information amongst geological curators and other interested bodies. They provide information and advice on all matters relating to geology in museums. They also undertake active surveillance of collections of geological specimens and information with a view to ensuring their continued wellbeing.				GCG AIMS To improve the status of geology in museums and raise the standard of geological curation To advise, inform and create a forum for discussion for all aspects of the care of geological collections
