Originally formed as The Society for Veterinary Ethology by
veterinarians and academics interested in the behaviour of captive
or domesticated animals. The society has devoloped into the
leading international society promoting research and education
into the behaviour and welfare of farm, laboratory, companion and
zoo animals. Membership of ISAE is open to people involved in the
fields of agriculture, veterinary science, zoology and other
animal sciences.

ISAE AIMS
- To encourage and support basic and applied research into the
behaviour of animals as related to the use of animals by humans
- To provide an international forum in which scientists can
communicate and discuss the results of this research
- To provide a pool of expertise to government, industry and
animal welfare organizations which deal with problems involving
animal behaviour
