COUNTRYSIDE RESTORATION TRUST

 

Established in 1991 and launched publicly in July 1993 as a local charity but with national objectives. The late Sir Laurens van der Post was a Founder Trustee and the Trust's first Patron. Current Chairman, Robin Page was also a founding member along with the late, well known artist and conservationist, Gordon Beningfield. From the early days the CRT has gained over 5000 `Friends' and raised in excess of GBP 1m. Anyone can join them.				CRT AIMS To purchase land, which has been over intensively farmed, and restore it through sensitive and sympathetic farming practices To rehabilitate landscape and habitat for wildlife To preserve land, purchasing farmland and woodland where traditional methods, habitat and biodiversity are under threat
