Established in 1991 by a group of physicians in the Netherlands,
who realized that the loss of the rainforest is also an enormous
loss of resources for both western and non-western medicine.
Medicinal plants can play a key-role in forest conservation, once
their importance for global health is fully realized. It is a fact
that over 25% of our medicines are derived from plants.

AIMS
- To contribute to the conservation of the tropical rainforest
and to support its indigenous people
- To provide assistance in the battle against negative health
effects resulting from rainforest destruction
- To make medicinal plants an economically viable alternative to
logging and other destructive forest use
