The European Association for Aquatic Mammals (E.A.A.M.) was
founded in 1972 at a meeting at the Dolphinarium of Harderwijk,
the Netherlands. The E.A.A.M. is an organisation of people
interested in marine mammals in human care ,in a zoological
environment or in the wild, and includes veterinarians,
biologists, zoo and marine park directors and managers, trainers
(husbandry professionals), researchers, students and other persons
who devote a significant amount of time to the welfare of marine
mammals through research, medical care, training, education,
conservation, management and related activities.

EAAM AIMS
- To promote scientific progress pertaining to research,
education, conservation,and other aspects of aquatic mammals
- To advance the theoretical basis for the maintaining of aquatic
mammals in human care and/or a zoological environment
- To provide an organisation for those who devote much of their
time in the aquatic mammal field and to offer information on these
aspects to the whole membership
