ECOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF AUSTRALIA

A professional organisation established to promote ecological research and communication. The Society currently has over 1400 members. The Ecological Society provides the following avenues for communication: Austral Ecology (formerly the Australian Journal of Ecology), a journal of international standing for the dissemination of results of ecological studies, mainly those relating to the Australian sphere of scientific responsibility. Austral Ecology Ecological Management and Restoration aims to bridge the gap between the ecologist's perspective and field manager's experience. Ecological Management & Restoration The Bulletin of the Ecological Society of Australia, a newsletter for members.				ESA AIMS To promote the scientific study of all organisms in relation to their environment To advise governmental and other agencies in matters where the application of ecological principles may be of assistance To foster the reservation of natural areas for science and recreation and seek to ensure they are soundly managed
