Since their foundation in 1963, CPAWS have helped protect over 40
million hectares of Canada's most treasured wild places. CPAWS'
structure is unique among national conservation groups: they are
chapter-driven, yet nationally focused. CPAWS focuses on
establishing new parks and making sure the needs of nature come
first in their management. Wilderness areas, and the wildlife
populations they support, need to be conserved and protected. Due
to the variety of different campaigns and office sizes throughout
Canada, CPAWS offers a variety of opportunities at both the
National and Chapter levels. Some of these include volunteers to
assist with the coordination of volunteers, office assistants and
committee work.
