ORANGUTAN FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL

 

Created in 1986 the Orangutan Foundation has been influential in promoting significant research and conservation activities. International cooperation in repatriating Orangutans. Awareness of Orangutans and tropical rain forest issues domestically and abroad and also Orangutan protection regulations abroad. OFI's main responsibility is to ensure that research and conservation activities at the historic Camp Leakey site continue. As the ORCP activities expand to other areas, OFI will provide the needed support.				OFI AIMS To support the conservation of the Orangutan and its habitat To care for ex-captive individuals as they make their way back to the forest To promote the Orangutan and its plight in order to increase appreciation of the ape's value and so that it might be saved
