DONALD L. HEY, PhD, is Senior Vice President of The Wetlands Initiative and Director of Wetlands Research, Inc., the organization responsible for the Des Plaines River Restoration Project. NANCY S. PHILIPPI, Vice President of The Wetlands Initiative, is a writer and researcher specializing in wetland restoration and flood control. Ms. Philippi and Dr. Hey have worked together on wetland research and restoration projects since 1986.
