Primatology Monographs

With its long tradition and unique holistic approach, the work of Japanese primatologists has attracted researchers worldwide. To enhance the exchange of views between Eastern and Western primatologists, Prof. Tetsuro Matsuzawa and Prof. Juichi Yamagiwa launched a book series in primatology with the cooperation of the Primate Society of Japan, the Primate Research Institute, and the Wildlife Research Center of Kyoto University.

The purpose of this series is to publish research developments in all areas of primatology and related disciplines with a special focus on the fields in which primatologists in Japan have been playing leading roles. Target audiences are graduate students and researchers in primatology as well as other fields such as anthropology, zoology, sociology, ecology, ethology, psychology, and behavioral science.
