About this book

Language: French

The specialists who worked on this book engaged in a genuine Benedictine task to identify the maximum number of specimens in different parts of the department. The sum of their work has resulted in a varied canvas, as exhaustive as possible, for the hiker, amateur tree lover, or simply the urban walker. Because cities also contain fine specimens. The authors of this book hope that reading it will encourage naturalists to go to the placed where they have discovered these trees, in order to share their love for all vegetation, which are the lungs of life of Mother Earth.

Within any forest, trees are distinguished from each other by their size, configuration, and originality. Thus, a tree is "remarkable" because it is at the same time "noticed". This book is dedicated to these trees throughout the departement of Haute-Savoie, one of the most densely forested regions of France, but also one whose altitude range breaks all records between the lowest and highest points. Hence a variety of geographical locations and a variety of species and endless subjects can be found here.
