The Batcorder Mini provides a compact and economical option for the automatic detection and recording of bat sounds. It features a very simple user interface with just a single button to start and stop recording. A panel of LEDs indicates the battery life, memory space and GPS connection status.
The Mini has built-in memory (64GB SDXC) and an internal lithium-ion battery which is charged via USB. The battery life is approximately 2 - 3 days but, for longer deployments an external power bank can be connected via USB. A built-in GPS sets the time, date and location and other recording settings are uploaded to the device using the free software included (Mac X OS and Windows).
Full spectrum bat calls are recorded with a sampling rate of 500kHz in 16-bit resolution and all data can be downloaded using a USB cable. The Mini will record calls over a frequency range of 16 - 150kHz.Files can be stored as Batcorder RAW as well as Windows WAVE files.
