Biography

Karen Wallace was born in Canada and grew up in a log cabin in Quebec. She has done many jobs in her life including working in public relations, running her own publishing company, making pizzas, singing in a cabaret act and a bluegrass band – but throughout her life she has always made up stories and wanted to be a writer. Her books include Bears in the Forest and Think of an Eel.

Barbara Firth is a Kate Greenaway Medal-winning illustrator and has worked on numerous picture books by Martin Waddell including the 1989 Kurt Maschler Award-winning The Park in the Dark. She lives in West Yorkshire.
