About this book

Language: English

From the preface:

"Hira Lal Dangol is undoubtedly Nepal's premier bird artist of modern times. His bird painting career started in the 1960s with his association with Robert Flemings and continues to flourish to this day. He has been painting since the age of 10, and later, through trainings by the late Mr Alex Mann and the late Lain Singh Bangdel, his talents were further realized. He has painted almost all the bird species found in Nepal and a few more bird species from outside Nepal's geographic limits. Mr Dangol's paintings decorate many locations, from: the former Royal Palace Narayanhity to the current Presidential Palace Sheetal Niwas. His paintings are in the collection of art collectors in and outside of Nepal. Major hotels and landmark places pride themselves on keeping his paintings. [...] I trust this exhibition will act as an eye-opener to us all, and we start appreciating the natural beauty of birds and the people who work so hard to show us the beauty with their brush and colours in a canvas."
