In this book the reader will find a brief introduction which, in simple terms, explains what a fungus is, how they reproduce, how they live and how they are nourished, and what their role in nature as recyclers is. It is also very understandably illustrated with drawings and photographs with the main morphological features of mushrooms, so they can be recognized at first glance without the help of a microscope. It also includes a brief overview of major taxonomic groups of fungi and some simple dichotomous keys to identify high level groups.

En aquesta obra el lector hi trobarà una breu introducció on, de manera senzilla, s’explica què és un fong, cóm molts d’aquest organismes fan bolets a l’hora de reproduir-se, cóm viuen i cóm es nodreixen, i el paper que tenen a la natura com a recicladors. També s’il·lustra amb dibuixos molt entenedors i amb fotografies els principals trets morfològics dels bolets, tan aquells que es veuen a simple vista com els que demanen l’ajut del microscopi per observar-los. Inclou també un breu conspecte taxonòmic dels principals grups de fongs i unes senzilles claus dicotòmiques per identificar-los al nivell de gran grup.
