The Dark Ops Max Plus is a compact, weatherproof trail camera featuring an invisible infrared flash (no glow) which ensures that neither animals nor humans will be able to detect the camera while it is recording. The camera also offers an adjustable 0.135 – 0.7 second trigger speed and impressive 0.5 second recovery time between pictures. The adjustable trigger means that you can select the speed that is best suited to your camera location and target species in order to get the best images and video possible. The camera records 20MP images and 1600 x 900p HD+ video clips with sound. Footage is captured in full colour during the day and, using infrared LEDs, in black and white at night. Illuma-smart technology automatically adjusts the IR flash for crisp night photos. Plus, you can select from three infrared LED settings to further improve your capture success: choose from Power Save, Long Range or Fast Motion. A Smart IR video feature allows the camera to continue recording video during the day for as long as the animal is present and active within the sensor range (max. 2 mins in day, 20s at night).
The Dark Ops HD Max is powered by 6 x AA batteries (8 x Lithium batteries included in the starter bundle only) and the battery meter function is accurate with both Alkaline and Lithium batteries. The camera is compatible with SDXC cards of up to 512GB as well as SDHC cards (32GB SDHC card included with the starter bundle).
This camera is also available as a starter bundle which includes the trail camera, 8 x Lithium AA batteries, and a 32GB SD card.
Note: Although rechargeable batteries (of at least 2500mAh) can be used with trail cameras, they are not recommended due to their lower capacity and voltage. Therefore they are unlikely to operate the camera at its full potential, or as reliably when compared with standard Lithium batteries. If the use of rechargeable batteries is necessary we recommend Panasonic Eneloop Pro batteries which have been shown to perform well with trail cameras. Additionally, we recommend using an SD card with a minimum write speed of 10MB/s (also labelled as U1 or class 10).
