For more information about choosing a trail camera that is right for you, take a look at our blog post on trail cameras.

The Bushnell NatureView Live View HD is a weatherproof motion activated trail camera which records HD videos (1920 x 1080p) and 14MP images onto an SD card (up to 32GB supported). It utilises a passive infrared (PIR) sensor which activates the camera whenever heat and motion are sensed within its monitoring range (up to 18m from the camera). It also comes with two close focus lenses (46cm and 60cm focal distance) which allow you to get great close-up images of your chosen subject and make it ideal for setting up near to a bird feeder or feeding post. The NatureView Live View HD records images and videos in full colour during the day and, using infrared LEDs, in black and white at night. An external image screen which plugs into the camera is also included and allows you to easily view your images while in the field.

This camera is also available as a starter bundle which includes the trail camera, 8 x lithium AA batteries and a 32GB SD card.

* No glow infrared LEDs: No glow LEDs are completely invisible to animals and humans but, in comparison to standard LEDs, have a slightly lower illumination range of 18m.
* 0.2 second trigger speed: This is the time taken between the PIR sensor being activated and the camera taking an image or video. Please note that the stated trigger speed applies to the capture of still images only.
* Hyper PIR: The PIR motion sensor is active to a distance of 18m. The sensitivity of the motion sensor is also adjustable and can be set to low, medium, high or auto. When set to auto, an internal temperature sensor regulates the sensitivity so that it is optimised for all weather conditions.
* Hyper night vision: Ensures that your night-time images are clear and crisp.
* Freeze frame shutter: Set the night vision shutter speed to low, medium or high – this helps to eliminate blur on moving animals.
* Multi-flash mode: This mode allows you to adjust the brightness of the night vision flash. Choose between low, medium and high; a low setting conserves the battery and prevents over illumination of close-up objects whilst the high setting allows maximum flash distance.
* Hybrid capture mode: Now you don’t have to choose between recording still images or videos. When in hybrid capture mode, the camera will take an image followed immediately by a video.
* Camera settings: Specify the number of images taken per trigger (1-3), the length of video recorded (1-60 seconds) and the delay between triggers (1 second to 60 minutes).
* 2x field scan: Field scan allows you to capture time lapse images at preset intervals of one minute to 60 minutes within the time frame you select. 2x field scan allows you to do this for two separate time frames, so you can monitor both dawn and dusk movements at your survey site.
* Data stamps: Date, time, moon phase, temperature and camera name are automatically stamped onto each image or video. It is also possible to input the GPS coordinates of your survey site and these will also be stamped onto your images and videos.
* Powered by 4-12 x AA batteries (not included), the NatureView Live View HD will last for up to a year on one set of good quality batteries.

We recommend the use of Lithium-ion batteries with Bushnell trail cameras as these will ensure maximum trigger speeds and longer battery life.

  • Great camera, too long trigger time for videos
By Marco 10 Jul 2018 Written for Live View HD - Camera only
A great camera for photo and video quality. My AA batteries are lasting since 4 months in my woods, no humidity inside camera, all is working fine.

Photos are sharp, realistic in colours, trigger for photos is fast, shorter then a second, as declared.
Video quality is good as well, no comparison with other camera traps, including my Suntek 700A.

Unfortunately triggering videos takes from 3 to 5 seconds, both in video only or photo+video mode.

I had animals passed in front of camera and the video started when the scene is empty and the animal is just a clopping recorded by the microphone. This characteristic is a little bit disappointing and it is not described in camera datasheet.

  • Superb for my requirements.
By Robert 8 Jan 2019 Written for Live View HD - Camera only
I wanted a trail camera which would give close-ups of garden birds feeding and bathing.
The video quality is superb – for close-up work, I don't think there's anything better. On one of my videos, I have a starling eating on the top of a ground feeder and a wood mouse eating underneath the ground feeder. You can see the whiskers on the mouse – it doesn't get any better than that optically.
It's only a matter of time before I buy another one of these.
