Charley Harper (1922-2007) was renowned for his elegant, minimalist method of portraying the wildlife of North America. He grew up in West Virginia and spent many hours sketching the things that he saw. Eventually Harper studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and later the Art Students League of New York City. During the 1960’s his work was used in children’s books such as The Golden Book of Biology and Animal Kingdom.
This stunning calendar depicts 12 of his highly stylized wildlife illustrations that are characteristic of his American Modernist technique.
The calendar is printed with soy-based inks on FSC certified paper. FSC certification promotes responsible forest management by ensuring that forestry practices are both environmentally and socially responsible.
