NHBS Covid-19 Update

During this extraordinarily difficult time we have two main objectives - protecting our staff and their families from the coronavirus, and ensuring that we continue to provide goods and services to the conservation sector and all who are passionate about the natural world.

As an online retail business we are remaining open, and are adjusting our operations to make sure our customers still receive the high level of service they have come to expect from NHBS. Our customer service team is ready and waiting to respond to your emails and answer your phone calls, but please bear with us if a response takes slightly longer than normal. We have remote working systems in place for our office workers and a core team of essential workers in our warehouse to pick and pack your orders.

To ensure that our staff can maintain social distancing, only those who can walk, cycle or drive are asked to come to the warehouse. Our remote working systems ensure that those who are self-isolating can continue to support our customers throughout this time, and we will continue to support those staff who may be directly affected by the virus - whether they are able to work from home or not.

We are following UK government guidelines in order to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading the virus and, to this end, have been providing updates to all staff on the latest news and best practice. We have suspended all non-essential staff travel, sales trips and conference attendance but look forward to meeting you all on the road at some point soon.

In spite of all of the above, we remain hard at work. If you place an order with us - whether to maintain your own sanity whilst in isolation or as part of an essential conservation project - we will work as hard as we can to ensure that you get the books and equipment you need.

Our couriers are still delivering daily across the world, and are doing so in a safe manner to assist those who are self isolating and to avoid spreading the virus. The EU Commission is urging all member states to create fast lanes for trucks carrying all types of goods to ensure that trade can continue. [However, if you are ordering by standard shipping and are outside the UK, we would recommend checking whether your local postal service is still delivering.]

We wish you all the best of health through these troubling times.
