This field guide provides a brief introduction to Chinese zoogeographical divisions, ecological bird groups, endemic species composition, and the natural geography and biodiversity characteristics of the Qinling Mountains, a major east-west mountain range in southern Shaanxi Province in China. The research history of birds in the Qinling area is also briefly introduced. On this basis, 494 bird species (belonging to 218 genera, 69 families, 18 orders) occurring in the Qinling Mountains are describes, accounting for 36.03% of the total number of bird species in China. Among them, there are 9 key protected species in China, accounting for 1.82% of the total. There were 52 species of national class II protected birds, accounting for 10.53% of the total. The Qinling region has 32 species of endemic bird, accounting for 30.5% of the total number of endemic bird species in China. The morphological characteristics, ecological habits and distribution of national key protected species and Chinese endemic species (86 species) and common species (220 species) are briefly introduced, and more than 300 exquisite photos are provided.
