About this book

Language: English, with bilingual preface in English and Chinese, and Chinese and scientific names in table of contents and index.

This book is divided into 2 volumes and embodies more than 6000 species of landscape plants (including cultivars). Among the 6000 species more than 3000 are common landscape plants and flowers plants, over 3000 are wild shrubs, flowers and ground cover plants. Nearly two thirds of the species (around 4000 species) recorded in this publication have not been recorded in any other published monographs in China. This is the first comprehensive and systematic publication of landscape plants.

In this book, ferns are arranged according to the system of Ching Renchang in 1978, gymnosperms are arranged in the system of Zheng Wangjun in 1975, and angiosperms are arranged in the system of J. Hufchinson. Each species is described under the family, genus, including Chinese name, scientific name, alias, main morphological characteristics, blooming and fruit stage, growth habit, origin or distribution, main methods of cultivation reproduction, as well as the landscape application.

The two-volume set contains 10,000 full-colour photographs.
