About this book

This volume deals with the taxa of the family Scythrididae known from Europe and North Africa. A total of 237 species in 7 genera are dealt with. The genus Scythris with 204 species is divided into 64 species-groups, many of which are mono-typical. Diagnostic characters of the external appearance and of the male and female genitalia are presented, and notes on distribution and biology are given for every species. Forty new species are described, and nomenclatural changes are proposed. Two new combinations are noticed, and lectotypes are designated for a nuber of taxa.
