About this book

Language: Finnish

In this new guidebook the editors present a selection of the most common or important species, subspecies or species groups of powdery mildews, smuts and rusts, 240 in total, found on primarily native plants in Finland. The introductory section includes topics such as taxonomy, morphology, habitats, and parasite-host interaction. The treatment of taxa includes genus and species descriptions, lists of the most common hosts as well as distribution data. A selection of most important synonyms are given, when relevant. Each taxon is illustrated with a colour photograph and a distribution map is provided. Distribution data are based on herbarium specimens, literature, and field studies by the authors. The scientific, Finnish and Swedish names of all taxa are indexed together, including synonyms. A separate host plant index includes the scientific and Finnish names of the hosts.

Summary in Finnish:
Kustakin lajista on värikuva.
