About this book

This volume is arranged in four sections, the third of which very much dominates the others in the space it occupies. In that section the data coded into the files which comprise the Shelled Gastropods database presented. The first section deals with the origin and development of the database, various examples of its use and field sampling procedures appropriate to use in conjunction with the database. The second section is a set of Glossaries, in which definitions are provided for all of the categories of information coded into the data files and the fourth section provides a bibliography of the references employed in compilation of the data files.

In addition to the hard copy version of the database, which now treats 270 species of shelled gastropods, a CD-ROM (hybrid version for PC and MAC) containing the database files and associated glossaries is also included.
