About this book

The present work is primarily based on classical faunistic treatments of the European and North American sphecid faunas. Theor age, and the changes, in some cases very extensive, in nomenclature and taxonomy made since then, have necessitated a modern revision of the Nordic fauna. The discovery of several new species within the area also helps to justify a revision. Furthermore, the existing knowledge of the biology, distribution etc. of the species has increased considerably.
