About this book

Language: German

In Central Europe there are only two kite species: the red and black kite. As close as their kinship is, so great are the differences that exist in the ecology of these two birds of prey. After the author wrote the book Der Rotmilan, he now presents his findings on the Black Kite, which are again enriched with personal experiences and investigations. Thus, the author describes a hitherto unknown feather dress in the development of the bird and contributes his own data on gender maturity and breeding time. He also provides in-depth information about the preferred habitat of this bird of prey ("Wassermilan"). As such, a Brehm-Band has emerged, which on the one hand contains a lot of individual data as a reference work, but on the other hand a lively picture of the Black Kite.
