About this book

Language: German

Die Pracht- und Hirschkäfer Baden-Württembergs describes the 77 jewel beetle and 7 stag beetle species known from this part of Germany. They are presented with colour photographs, distribution maps and detailed descriptions of their ecology and biology. A Red List of Baden-Württemberg was created for both families for the first time, and describes measures to protect endangered species. In addition, some species are treated whose occurrence in Baden-Württemberg is not completely certain. Lastly, the book discusses in detail damage done by jewel beetles in agriculture and forestry and possibilities to remedy this.
