About this book

Language: German, with scientific nomenclature and venacular names in English, German, French, Spanish, and Italian

Identifying birds using good, habitat-oriented photos is preferred by most practitioners because it is more authentic. It is crucial that the characteristics relevant to identification are clearly recognizable. This new type of photo identification book does this and not only presents the 550 birds native to Central Europe in the form of brilliant photos showing different plumages, but also immediately draws the eye to the features indicated by arrows in the pictures. In addition to the necessary information about status, habitats and possible confusion species, reliable identification is helped along by the inclusion of distribution maps and bar graphs, which show the birds' presence at a given time. In addition, the voices of the respective bird species can be listened to via QR codes using a smartphone. Helpful, especially when travelling, is that in addition to the German and scientific names, vernacular bird names are also given in English, French, Spanish and Italian.
