About this book

Language: German with 4-page English summary

In this extensive monograph all aspects of the life of this particular Austrian owl species are treated for the first time: their identification features and moulting cycles, the taxonomy, food, breeding biology, phenology and reproductive success as well as the current distribution and the possible effects of future climate factors. Their habitat is described, also outside of the Austrian border in neighboring countries. Finally, a complete chapter is dedicated to the threats, protection and a historical outline of the image of the species. With this publication the authors have been particularly concerned to provide all those involved in conservation as a guide for the implementation of species conservation projects.
