Biography

JOAN VAN EMDEN has taught Communication Studies, in particular the skills of writing and presenting technical material, at the University of Reading for over 20 years. In 1990 she launched The Jove Centre, a consultancy specialising in teaching these skills to managers in engineering companies throughout the UK. Joan is in demand as a speaker and an advisor on company documentation and presentations to clients. She is the author of A Handbook of Writing for Engineers.
