About this book

New paperback edition of this great book on British natural history.

With a foreword by The Prince of Wales.
The most comprehensive study of animal life in the British Isles carried out to date with over 3000 entries from the common snails and earthworms to deer and the golden eagle. It includes information on each species detailing history, folklore, habitat and characteristics, and includes not just living species but extinct species as well, providing a complete historic guide to every animal that has lived on or around British shores.
