The present work of the Aphidoidea fauna of China was undertaken under the auspices of the Fauna Editorial Committee, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This volume comprises two parts.

Part I includes six chapters on taxonomic status, study history and taxonomic systems; the comparative morphology of aphids; the evolution of chaetotaxy of embryos and posterior embryos; biological characteristics of Hormaphididae; species diversity of Hormaphididae; the zoogeographical distribution of Hormaphididae; the materials and methods.

In Part II, a total of 102 species of family Hormaphididae from China are reviewed. They belong to 30 genera which are grouped into 3 subfamilies as follows: Cerataphidinae, Hormaphidinae, Nipponaphidinae. The family Phloeomyzidae is a monotype family, is represented by one genus and one species in world and in China.
