This volume records 888 species, 203 subspecies and varieties of seed plants in 13 families and 85 genera, including Saxifragaceae, Begoniaceae, Cactaceae, Scutellariae, Rosaceae, Ulmaceae, and Rhamnaceae. The book briefly describes the characteristics of the families and genera, and comes with a key table. It also records the name (Chinese name, alias, scientific name, synonym), morphology, origin, habitat, distribution, etc. of each plant in detail. For species known to have economic value, their uses are also briefly introduced. Half of the species are accompanied by morphological feature comparison diagrams or plant overview diagrams, with a total of 174 plates.
