About this book

Language: German

Fossil communities of the Oberleichtersbach sinkhole (Oligocene, Bavaria, Germany). The final volume to be published in this series.

The Oberleichtersbach sinkhole harbors the sediments of an perennial Oligocene-age lake with a rich fauna of freshwater fossils and mammals. The papers of this volume provide a detailed account of the geological setting of the location, its palynomorphs, molluscs, ostracods, vertebrates and the mammals and carnivores retrieved from the Oberleichtersbach locality. The systematics of known and newly described species are reviewed and allow the paleoecology of the location to be reconstructed.
