Garmin GPSMAP 66i

About this product

The Garmin GPSMAP 66i has all the key features of the popular GPSMAP 66s and GPSMAP 66st but with additional features using inReach ® technology. This means that the Garmin GPSMAP 66i is capable of two way global messaging, live tracking and has a global interactive SOS feature (requires satellite subscription). It also offers an extended battery life of up to 35 hours in Standard mode up to 200 hours in Expedition mode.

The GPSMAP 66 series is the latest addition to the outstanding Garmin range. This rugged handheld GPS unit comes with a 3" colour display which is readable in sunlight. Whether you are hiking, cycling, surveying or working in outdoor environments, this device will help you to explore and track more. It offers a new quality of positioning with Quad-Helix antenna performance and multi-satellite support as well as wireless connectivity for Active Weather, direct downloads and Garmin Explore compatibility.

Get a better picture of your location with high-resolution photo-realistic views of your route, thanks to direct-to-device downloads of BirdsEye satellite imagery — without an annual subscription. You'll see a true representation of your surroundings to find trails, trailheads and clearings for campsites, to find parks and parking for geocaching, and even to create waypoints based on landmarks.

Even when you're offline and have no mobile connection, the GPSMAP 66 series pairs with the Garmin Explore mobile app to let you plan, review and sync data, including waypoints, routes and tracks. Plus, you can review completed activities while still in the field, even when you're off the grid. Once you're home again, plan for future trips and review previous activities from the Garmin Explore website.

Please note, the GPSMAP 66i requires an active airtime subscription to use the Iridium satellite communication features.

GPSMAP 66i with BirdsEye Select Great Britain PLUS -  The GPSMAP 66i is also available as a bundle with BirdsEye Select Great Britains PLUS. This allows you to choose tailored extracts of 1:25,000 Ordnance Survey maps and download them onto your Garmin Device. You can select up to 25,000 sq km of coverage throughout Great Britain, roughly equal to the squared kilometer coverage of all British National Parks.
