About this book

Language: French

This book is the result of an extensive sampling effort of over 100 rivers of Eastern Canada. The majority of periphytic taxa likely to be encountered in the rivers of Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island are included. The first part of the Guide provides some basic information about the morphology and ecology of diatoms and sampling techniques, processing and analysis. The second part provides a tutorial on the taxonomy of diatoms and 68 plates containing over 2000 photographs taken through a microscope.
