About this book

Language: Czech

The mushroom family Boletaceae is familiar to most people. We love them for their smell and taste, and many people forage for them in the woods. Although it is practically impossible to confuse them with lethal poisonous species, this identification guide will nevertheless be useful in species identification. There are over 80 species of boletes in the Czech Republic, and over 100 in the whole of Europe.

The aim of the book is to present this richness through quality descriptions and photographs. This book lists all the bolete species that grow in Europe, including many new ones that have been described only recently. Individual species are introduced using up-to-date scientific nomenclature based on the latest findings. Besides the main atlas part, there are chapters on morphology, ecology and mushroom protection. Many species are rare or protected, so it is necessary to protect mushrooms and the habitats in which they grow.
