About this book

Language: Italian

Few divers are able to remain impervious to the beauty of nudibranchs and sea slugs in general, of which the nudibranchs are the best known and most species rich group. These small snails with bright colors and bizarre shapes, in fact, even entice those who immerse themselves in search of different emotions; biology enthusiasts and underwater photographers are often haunted by their complexity and beauty. In this context, it is surprising and regrettable that very few divers know that the Riviera del Conero, a stretch of Italian beach on the Adriatic Sea near the port city of Ancona, harbours a very large number of species of sea slugs, probably higher than found in any other place in the Mediterranean or many tropical areas. This guide introduces the reader to the most important aspects of the anatomy and ecology of these animals, presents the marine area of the Riviera del Conero, and gives detailed description of the 58 species of sea slugs present there.
