After a career in education and information technology, Jacquetta Megarry's interest in long-distance trekking led her to devise and publish a new format of guidebook. Since 2000 she has published nearly 20 guidebooks in this new waterproof, rucksack-friendly format, many of them in Scotland where she lives. She has summited Mount Kilimanjaro four times by different routes (1999-2008), and regards Kili as one of her favourite hikes.
