About this book

Language: Catalan

This book gathers existing information on 149 species of butterflies and moths of Andorra. This group of organisms, which are extraordinarily diverse and of recognised biomarker value, stand out as one of the most attractive insect orders, both for their beauty and their complex biology. In Andorra, they have attracted the attention of many entomologists who have contributed their knowledge. Today, however, we are still far from knowing everything about the butterflies of Andorra. Since 2004, the implementation of a monitoring network of butterflies, the BMSAnd, has been a major boost to research and promises to rapidly increase the volume of available data. This book was born with the intention to provide a new reference point on the knowledge of Andorran butterflies. It is illustrated with many colour photographs, illustration, and distribution maps on a 1 × 1 km grid.
