About this product

This class-sized educational Rock Pooling Kit contains everything you need to start water sampling contained in one, durable, easy kit. Suitable for children at Key Stage 2 and above in school or Wildlife Trust groups.

The NHBS Pond Net is good for children of all ages to use as it is lightweight and has foam grips on the handle. The net has 1mm polyester mesh and attaches to the frame using strong Velcro. This means that it can easily be removed for washing or replacement. The net head measures 25 x 25cm and the handle is 60cm in length. These nets are made by us here at our workshop in Devon.

The flexible white plastic tray is used to sort through a catch from your net. Use the bug viewer to take a closer look at a specimen through the magnifying lid then store your specimens in the water-tight sampling pots - just remember to put them back in the rock pool when you've finished. The 2.5 litre buckets are perfect for keeping your specimens safe whilst observing them and for transportation.

Finally, the fully-illustrated and laminated identification key is produced by the Field Studies Council (FSC) and covers the main animal and plant groups found on British rocky shores.

Each kit contains:
* 5 x NHBS Pond Net (1mm mesh)
* 20 x 60ml sampling pots
* 10 x Bug viewer (with measurement grid on the base)
* 10 x Small white sampling tray
* 2 x 2.5 litre buckets
* 10 x Rocky Shore Name Trail
