Based on the popular Kent Bat Box design and constructed from rough sawn larch harvested from plantations on the Sharpham Estate, Totnes.
Two 25mm cavities provide plenty of roost space in this self-cleaning box which has been left untreated. The two protruding nail heads on the front of the box provide a handy anchor point when strapping the box to a tree or pole.
These bat boxes are suitable for crevice-dwelling species, such as common, soprano and Nathusius pipistrelle, Brandt's and whiskered bats.
These boxes should be sited at least 2 metres above ground and away from artificial light sources. Suitable for attaching to trees, fences and external walls.
