NHBS Water Vole Trap

About this product

This water vole trap has a high quality aluminium Sherman Trap tunnel with sprung entrance and treadle and is fitted with a spacious wooden nesting compartment. The trap is suitable for catching voles for monitoring purposes, such as when conducting capture, mark, recapture studies. It can also be used to catch voles for relocation. The Sherman Trap is provided with the rear door removed so that it can be used with the nest box; however the rear treadle and spring are also included so the trap can also be used independently.

Please note: The water vole is fully protected under Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and is a priority conservation species. It is illegal to disturb or capture water voles unless you have a licence from Natural England to do so (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/survey-or-research-licence-for-protected-species).
