You can no doubt fondly remember trips to catch newts and frogs at a local pond. Sadly this simple pleasure has largely disappeared along with many small village and field corner ponds. The loss is, in part, due to urban expansion, development and changes in farming practices but it is a real pity as ponds are a fabulous place to explore the natural world. This film in the Black Country Lad Explores series delves into a watery world of newts, frogs and dragonflies and even examines some of the tiny aquatic animals which help make this habitat one of the richest that Britain has to offer. It is narrated by the Black Country Lad.
