Compact speaker capable of playing back recorded calls between 2 and 60kHz from a bat detector. The sound produced by the speaker can then be picked up by any other type of detector--a great way to help demonstrate or teach use of bat detectors.
Suitable for use with any detector capable of playing back recorded real-time calls in High Frequency (HF output) or ultrasound, such as the D1000x. It can also be connected to a laptop to play back time expanded or real-time calls using software such as Batsound. (Please note that your laptop must have a high performance soundcard (sampling rate 192kHz) and time-expanded calls will need to be re-sampled).
The L60 uses a piezo-electric transducer which gives the unit a frequency range of 2kHz - 60kHz. The impedance of the L60 is greater than 50 ohm for frequencies up to 150kHz. For optimal performance an amplifier with an output impedance of 50 ohm or lower should be used to drive the L60. The L60 is a passive unit, i.e. it does not require a power supply or battery. The signal input of the L60 uses a common phono (RCA) jack.
A volume control makes it easy to adjust the signal to the desired level.
