About this product

The Pollinating Bee Log provides nesting and hibernation space for solitary bees, including the Mason Bee, the Leafcutter Bee as well as a variety of overwintering insects. These bees and other insects are vital for pollinating fruit, vegetables and flowers and are non swarming and non aggressive, hence safe with children and pets. The Pollinating Bee Log is made from solid FSC timber which provides good insulation during the winter and does not require moving inside in winter. It is filled with natural cane nesting tubes for the bees and can be hung on a wall or from trees using the strengthened seagrass hanging ropes.

Siting
The Bee Log should be sited in a warm position near a nectar source and in a place where it will catch the morning sun. Ideally it should be hung in a sunny corner of the garden near foliage, at a height of 1 - 2 metres from the ground. If after 24 months the product has not been used, it may be worth choosing an alternative location to site it and/or look to see what improvements you can make to provide a suitable environment for your target species (flowers, woodpiles, rough areas of garden etc).
