About this book

Language: Russian

These memoirs of a well-known Kazakhstan omithologist comprise more than 70 years and represent a mixture of memoirs and documentary: based on the diaries of the author, they contain many specific dates of the events, detailed descriptions of expedition routes along with the travel impressions from them. Illustrations in the form of documents and letters strengthen the documentary side of the book. Based on the personal diaries, the author, as the title suggests, describes not only bird records and his own travel impression, but also gives his own interpretation to the portraits of many people (not only omithologists), whom he had a chance to meet. The first part of the memoirs is especially full of memories of the people of this time: mentors, friends and colleagues.
