About this book

Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish

This list compiles the scientific names and standard Spanish and English names of the Mexican herpetetofauna. Since the first edition many changes have been made in scientific names. A number of new species/subspecies have been described, some previous subspecies are now species, some taxa have been placed into synonymy and some taken out of synonymy, some previous extralimital forms are now shown to be in Mexico and some have been taken out of the Mexican fauna. Some of the Standard names had been inappropriate and have been changed or modified as thought necessary. Every effort was made that the lists herein are as current as possible. For the most part the latest literature is followed.
